Backup and Restore Failures

For a Kaya system archive, confirm it contains data/.runtime.env, data/kaya.db, encrypted storage, uploads and deployment configuration. An archive without the original encryption key is incomplete for encrypted features. Restore first to an isolated directory and inspect container migration logs.

For Backup Manager jobs, inspect target connection test, agent last seen/capabilities, job state, log, artifact path and size. Queued means the agent has not accepted it; dispatched/running is not completion; failed requires the returned error. A restore needs a compatible artifact and the same backup encryption material supplied through the job.

Vault portable exports are separate: validate with the bundled offline tool and correct export passphrase. Tampered packages fail authenticated decryption.
